Dedrone integrates Axis Communications’ camera to provide a multi-sensor airspace security solution | Wbactive

Dedrone, the leader in intelligent airspace security, today announced that it has partnered with Axis Communications to integrate Axis network cameras into Dedrone’s DedroneTracker Counterdrone Command and Control (C2) platform. With the camera integration from Axis, Dedrone is now the first Counter-UAS (cUAS) company to offer a proven artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) based multi-sensor fusion for autonomous drone detection, tracking and identification (DTI ) offers. with multi-target and multi-camera capability. This airspace security system has been successfully tested at several locations, including Consolidated Edison’s power facilities in New York City.

Consolidated Edison and Dedrone will speak Wednesday, November 16 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. at ISC East, the premier event for the Northeast’s security and public safety community, addressing security strategy that can rapidly respond to emerging threats . More details here.

“ConEdison requires a high level of intelligence and autonomy to ensure the security and business continuity of our NYC energy center,” said Scott Gross, facility security officer at ConEdison. “We chose Dedrone because it allows us to integrate our existing Axis PTZ (pan, tilt, zoom) cameras with DedroneTracker, giving the PTZs an additional layer of situational awareness for faster drone risk assessment and better payload inspection can provide.”

Gross continued, “Knowing what the drone is, what it is carrying and where it is located is critical to a good security strategy. Our successful implementation here in NYC’s challenging urban environment proves that the Dedrone and Axis solution can be successful at all of our locations across the five boroughs and Westchester County.”

Axis PTZ cameras, when integrated with Dedrone, provide both wide area coverage and detailed footage. The cameras feed into Dedrone’s AI/ML sensor fusion system, which uses the DedroneDNA drone library to accurately distinguish between drones and non-drones and then identify the drone model. Dedrone’s C2 platform, DedroneTracker, continuously and autonomously examines potential targets in the background and then identifies potentially threatening drones, allowing the operator to track and defuse them as needed.

“Our partnership with Axis provides a robust, multi-layered airspace security solution for complex urban environments like New York City,” said Ben Wenger, Dedrone’s chief revenue officer. “We are proud of the ability of our C2 platform to offer high quality DTI management while easily integrating with best-in-class technologies like Axis network cameras to provide customers with the best solution for any scenario.”

“We are pleased to be working with a leader in the UAS defense space that understands the need for the highest quality video data fed into the Dedrone C2 platform for responsive, intelligent airspace security,” added Drew Pacino, Business Development Manager , Technology Integration, Added Partner Program, Axis Communications. “We share the same goal of creating smarter security solutions for an evolving world, and we’re excited to deliver this new use case for our cameras and further integrate our product suite with Dedrone’s cUAS solution.”

Dedrone offers its complete end-to-end cUAS solution from DTI to mitigation for every use case. The company recently launched DedroneDefender, its next-generation wearable mitigation system designed for use by civil, state, and local law enforcement in urban environments. Dedrone works in 40 countries, including four of the G-7 governments; nine US federal agencies, including the Department of Defense; more than 75 critical infrastructure sites; Over 20 airports; and 50 correctional facilities worldwide. The company actively provides drone detection services for some of the most prominent events around the world and works closely with more than 35 law enforcement agencies.
