Kitchen Magic streamlines manufacturing facility to meet growing demand for kitchen remodeling and kitchen furniture

The company will reduce wait times and maintain its high quality standards in a market where demand for kitchen remodeling projects has increased by more than 20 percent since 2020.

“The manufacturing upgrade increases efficiency, streamlines operations and reduces costs“, notes Jacob Mayerwho works as Continuous Improvement & Compliance Manager at Kitchen Magic.

Since its inception, it has been imperative for Kitchen Magic to meet the changing needs of customers. The latest upgrade is one of the continuous advances the family business has invested in since 1979.

As well as expanding and training new and existing employees and managers, the recent acquisition is significant in the production of Kitchen Magic’s newly launched Barwen line of affordable, stylish cabinets.

Why the newcomer

The new technology is highly automated, making carcass cutting highly efficient once the machine is programmed and the materials are loaded. While all Kitchen Magic cabinets are still assembled by hand, speeding up the cutting process improves manufacturing time, precision and reduces time to completion. This increased efficiency significantly reduces customer and waiting times. The recent acquisition of equipment also contributes to the state-of-the-art manufacturing facility and helps attract the region’s skilled workforce.

With continued post-Covid demand for home improvement projects, Kitchen Magic recognized the need for additional automation. After the most recent 2022 US Houzz & Home study, housing conversion has increased by 20% since 2020. In addition, the kitchen is the most important interior space that homeowners need to modernize. In 2021, kitchen renovations increased by 27%.

Demand was unprecedented when we reopened after mandate Pennsylvania Production shut down“adds Mayers. “The new technology will protect the business from downtime with less maintenance and repair.”, he adds. The latest CNC is mainly used for cabinet making, while the company’s two existing CNC machines are mainly used for door making.

What is CNC machining?

CNC machining is a process where pre-programmed computer software creates a controlled digital process to manufacture efficiently and with greater accuracy. This ensures a high-quality end result of a variety of manufactured products that the CNC machine produces through three-dimensional cutting.

CNC technicians program computer devices that control machine tools, resulting in rapidly automated shop floor productivity that improves speed and optimizes product quality.
