Tack appoints Amee Chande to the board

SAN FRANCISCO–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Thumbtack, the modern home management platform, today announced that Amee Chande will join the company’s Board of Directors after more than a decade in leadership roles at multinational brands including Alibaba, Walmart and Waymo.

In this new role, she will serve as Chair of the company’s Nominating and Governance Committee. Chande joins the board ahead of important new initiatives at Thumbtack aimed at expanding the relationship with homeowners.

Chande currently serves on the Board of Directors of Air Canada (ACDVF), Canada’s largest domestic and international airline, serving millions of passengers on thousands of flights to destinations worldwide each day, and as a consultant at Chargepoint, the largest online network of independently operated electric vehicle charging stations in 14 countries . She is also a member of the Advisory Board of Livingbridge Private Equity.

A seasoned executive with experience in consumer technology, e-commerce and marketplace businesses, Chande helps companies challenge the status quo and redefine markets. Previously, she was Chief Commercial Officer at Waymo, Google’s self-driving car project. At Alibaba, she was Managing Director of Global Strategy and Operations for four years. During her tenure as Vice President at Walmart, she oversaw the launch of Marketside, the company’s first new US store format in more than a decade, and also oversaw the opening of the first 50 retail pilot clinics in Walmart stores.

Throughout her career, Chande has held positions as Chief Executive Officer and Senior Vice President at global retailers such as NutriCenter, Staples and Tesco. She has also served on the Board of Directors of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts and of Signature Flight Support, which provides services to private and corporate aircraft owners and operators.

With Chande’s appointment, Thumbtack’s Board of Directors consists of seven members, including Sean Aggarwal, Chief Executive Officer of Soar Capital; Jed Katz, Managing Director, Javelin Venture Partners; Lily Sarafan, co-founder and CEO of TheKey; Bryan Schreier, Partner, Sequoia Capital; Jonathan Swanson, Co-Founder, Thumbtack; and Marco Zappacosta, CEO and co-founder of Thumbtack.
