The Masked Singer Season 8 returned Thursday night with a brand new episode. In the spirit of Thanksgiving, the reality series aired its first-ever two-night event, airing two back-to-back episodes two nights in a row.
It was time for the semifinals as the top three masked celebrities took center stage and competed for a spot in the grand finals. Judges Nicole Scherzinger, Ken Jeong, Robin Thicke and Jenny McCarthy returned to their panel seats alongside moderator Nick Cannon.
The Masked Singer celebrated Thanksgiving on the show. Participants’ hints were also themed around what they were thankful for in life.
The Harp, Lambs and Snowstorm were at the center of an epic three-way battle in which they each sang a song of their choice. Aside from that, they also went head-to-head in the first three-way battle royale of the season. Unfortunately, at the end of their performance, the one with the fewest votes was exposed.
To everyone’s surprise, the masked celebrity eliminated after their semi-final performance was Snowstorm.
Snowstorm has been a fan favorite since her first appearance on the famous reality TV show. Her voice not only impressed the jury, but also the audience and viewers at home. Aside from that, fans also enjoyed that she toasted the judges with her comebacks.
Sadly, now that she’s eliminated from the competition, fans seem to have mixed reactions. They took to social media to share their opinions. While some were sad that Snowstorm didn’t make it to the finals, others claimed it was the right decision.
Fans affected by Snowstorm’s elimination The Masked Singer season 8
Taking to Twitter, some fans claimed that Blizzard was robbed of a spot in the grand finals. Some also added that she deserved to be above the Lambs in the final.
Meanwhile, some others claimed that the decision was right and that it was time for the blizzard to go home. In addition, some also shared that they predicted the blizzard would be unmasked.
Here’s who was under the snowstorm’s mask The Masked Singer season 8
Snowstorm was the second masked celebrity to appear in the semifinals. She performed her rendition of Katy Perry’s Thinking of you. Ahead of her performance, she shared a clue pack that revealed she had dreamed of being a pop star since she was a child.
She said she took singing lessons when she was in high school, but that her mother received a call from her school claiming that the star “didn’t have it.” Noting that it was the day her dream died, The Blizzard said that’s why she was grateful to be on the show, continuing:
“I’m really grateful for the opportunity to express myself in a way I never thought I would be able to.”
After her performance, Snowstorm presented the judges with a balloon that said “Squiggly” on stage as a cue.
The judges found that she was referring to the Squiggly Monster that attended The Masked Singer. It was none other than the late actor Bob Saget. Snowstorm shared that the Squiggly Monster is a “dear friend” of hers.
She added that while it was strange for her to “cry with that voice,” she explained Saget was the reason she chose the show as his experience was incredibly rewarding. The star continued:
“I’m so glad he got it before he died. My performances were for him, whether he wanted it or not.”
When it came time to debunk the blizzard, she turned out to be none other than comedian Nikki Glaser. The only judge who guessed correctly was Jenny McCarthy.
The Masked Singer Season 8 will return for its grand finale Wednesday night at 8pm ET. Readers can check your local listings for more information.
