Here at ELLE DECOR we are all about offering the best design inspiration we can find. On the one hand, this means presenting you with the most spectacular houses in the world and decorating them expertly. But for us, living well also means giving back to our planet, whether that’s by sourcing sustainable furniture and objects or by working with companies that are committed to ethical – and just – practices.

To highlight our commitment to a more sustainable future, this Earth Day editor from ELLE DECOR and its sister publications house beautiful and veranda presents the second annual edition of draft &, a virtual summit meeting dedicated to pressing issues in the design world. This year’s theme is the future of green living, bringing together some of the country’s most respected design minds for a day of innovative ideas and in-depth conversations. The conference, which begins April 22 at 12:00 pm EDT, is open to students and design professionals or just design enthusiasts. Did we mention it’s free?

ELLE DECOR Editor-in-Chief Asad Syrkett will lead a panel discussion focused on sustainable materials. Participants include Luam Melake, Manager of the Healthy Materials Lab Library at Parsons School of Design; curator and author Beatrice Galilee, founder of the design conference World Around; and Jane Abernethy, chief sustainability officer at furniture manufacturer Humanscale.

house beautifulmeanwhile, will host a panel dedicated to creating a healthier kitchen (a space where well-being matters!), and veranda will host a conversation on a topic dear to all design lovers: conservation. Also, don’t miss a special panel on creating a more circular fashion industry, as well as a conversation between Frédéric de Narp, CEO of the luxury company behind ethical jewelery house Oscar Massin, and actress Kate Hudson.
